Why it matters
A qualifying site is a distinct KCMO address with an issued commercial-class electrical permit declaring at least $100,000 of project value, applied for between Oct. 1, 2021 and May 9, 2025. Cancelled, voided, revoked and expired permits are excluded.
What this number can’t tell you
- Declared value is the applicant’s estimate of project value, not the electrical contract price.
- Kansas-side projects and other Missouri cities are outside the source.
- Issued permits do not prove completed or inspected work, and the saved dataset ends May 9, 2025.
What to do with it
- For large commercial work, use permit history as a starting list, then ask for comparable projects and current capacity.
- Smaller firms with few large permits may still be strong for tenant finish or service work below the threshold.
