ABOUT THE PUBLICATION

A clearer starting point.

Electrician Benchmark is a research publication for comparing residential and commercial electrical contractors.

A contractor’s name on a list should come with enough context to be useful. What kind of work does the company advertise? Which credential records were found? What does the comparison actually measure? What still needs checking?

Electrician Benchmark starts with Kansas City, on both sides of the state line. Residential and commercial comparisons are separate because a homeowner’s project and a commercial owner’s project call for different questions.

Show the evidence. Explain the limit.

Entries connect company information to dated sources. The commercial comparison uses a defined slice of historical KCMO issued electrical permits. The residential ranking uses matched Google ratings with a review-volume adjustment. Neither measure is a workmanship inspection or a guarantee about a future job.

We do not claim to have interviewed every customer, inspected listed projects or tested every contractor. Company-advertised services are research leads, not verified performance claims. Before hiring, confirm the current credential, insurance, scope and permit plan for your address.

Who publishes the edition?

The public byline is Electrician Benchmark editorial desk. The methodology documents the inputs, formulas, limits and correction process. Our research uses dated public records and company sources. AI-assisted research supports collection and consistency checks; the publication remains responsible for the method and corrections.

How is the edition maintained?

The October 4, 2026 edition includes a complete residential observation pass and a reproducible commercial permit calculation. Evidence was checked separately from implementation, with representative company and Google-listing checks. Ratings and credentials can change after their recorded dates. Substantive corrections to inputs or scoring are recorded in the dated correction history.
